    Hi,

Thanks for the great support and continued update.

Great that responsive support has been added out-of-box but it has caused a major issue with my layout and was hoping you guys can give me some advice on fixing it. I have already made a number of changes to CSS which may also be affecting it.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Luke

EDIT: Made some changes and seems alright now. Please close topic.

    Hi tianna1121,

please have a look at the theme demo, there are no layout issues.

We’ve just checked your site and it seems the theme hasn’t been updated properly as your site is still running the old stylesheet. Please delete the theme and then reinstall it through your WordPress dashboard to ensure that all files are in place properly.

    Hi All,

I am also having a layout issue after the latest update. It seems related to changes to the homepage page template.

Previously, I had changed the width of my right sidebar to 265px. This still works on pages that are not the homepage, like so:
    http://themarjorie.com/about/

…but on the homepage, it is still treating the sidebar as if it is the original 300px width, so it looks like it’s floating away from the right side:
    http://themarjorie.com/

Also, if you shrink the size of the screen (as on a mobile device, etc.) it distorts the images in the sidebar. Again, this is only an issue on the homepage.

Has anyone else encountered sidebar issues since the update, and if so, do you know where I might be able to work around this?

    Thanks much,
    Athena

Here are images to demonstrate where the difference in column width is happening:

    Home Page (incorrect column width)

    Hi Athena,

please keep in mind that the latest update was quite a major update to make the theme responsive (mobile ready). That means there have been several changes to the stylesheet.

In your case it seems you are using a child theme on your website with customizations. And that also is the source of your issue because your customizations just aren’t compatible anymore.

You would need to review your customizations and modify the CSS to make your customizations work properly. We’ve also noticed that you have pasted the whole stylesheet to your child theme. That’s actually not a good idea, your child theme should only contain the CSS which is related to your modifications.

Also, if you shrink the size of the screen (as on a mobile device, etc.) it distorts the images in the sidebar. Again, this is only an issue on the homepage.

That is normal because the theme is responsive now and will automatically adapt to the screen resolution.

As mentioned before in this thread, regarding the theme itself, there are no layout issues at all, you can check the theme demo. If you have layout issues on your site, then this is related to theme customizations and/or caching issues (in that case clear your browser cache). In case of customizations you would need to review your customizations and modify them accordingly.

And if you don’t want to use the latest (responsive) version of the theme, you can also upload the previous version which you can download here.

    Have a nice weekend.

Thanks so much for the fast response!

I’ve gone back to the old version for now, and everything’s back to normal. Maybe some weekend when I have more time I’ll play around with the new version and see if I can make it work better with my customizations.

    Thanks much!
    Athena
