Good evening, hope all is well.

Seeking help…the Lightbox feature for my NextGen Thumbnail galleries is not working. When I click on a thumbnail pic in my galleries, the image opens up in a blank new webpage w/image in top left corner.

The Lightboxes stopped working after I upgraded WP to 4.1.1

I also have the NextGEN Gallery Optimizer plugin activated and settings seem to be correct.

Is there a step I’m missing or another plugin that I need to install to get the lightbox feature to work?

Here’s a link to one of my website pages w/a NextGen Thumbnail Gallery so that you can what I’m referring to…

Any assistance you can provide is appreciated!

@hdtheagency – Have you worked through the steps outlined in this article: http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Troubleshooting

I’m having this same problem. I don’t have the luxury of uninstalling/deactivating all of my plugins as this site is live and for a client. The lightbox effect was working before updating to WordPress 4.1.1. It’s also not an issue with the path being broken from changing from a testing server. I checked all of those things.

    Here is the site:

Can you tell me if your plugin will be working with this update soon? I need a functioning photo gallery asap. Thank you!

    Thank you!

@hdtheagency – You still have NextGEN Gallery Optimizer active which is using the same Lightbox Effect … this could be the conflict.

Although the author of the NextGEN Gallery Optimizer has gone to great efforts to ensure compatibility there have still been scattered reports where it is causing a conflict.

@photocrati Ok…just deactivated NextGen Gallery Optimizer and the same issue still occurs…no lightbox.

I also have this plugin…Huge IT lightbox. It’s currently deactivated. Is it needed w/NextGen Gallery.

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

@hdtheagency – I’m not familiar with that plugin and if deactivated it should not be causing any effect on your site.

Have you tried using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options? Also, does this problem affect all Lightbox Effects or just the Fancybox you currently have selected?

    Thread Starter hdtheagency

    (@hdtheagency)

@photocrati Yes, tried the reset option as well. Nothing changed.

And yes, the only problem I’m having is getting the Fancybox to appear once you click on a thumbnail.

    (@photocrati)

@hdtheagency – If this is just affecting the “Fancybox” and you have NextGEN Gallery Optimizer deactivated … does your theme have a Lightbox library it is providing that may be causing this conflict?

    – Cais.

    Thread Starter hdtheagency

    (@hdtheagency)

@photocrati…not sure, one of the built in features is a
    ‘Portfolio with themed preview windows’

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

@hdtheagency – That theme does use a Fancybox implementation which could be the point of conflict. You may need to disable one or the other Fancybox library in the theme or the plugin … to do so in NextGEN Gallery go under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects … select the No Lightbox option and save changes.

    @photocrati

Done…unfortunately, did not work. Still no lightbox.

There does appear to be a coding error in my thumbnail galleries. When I expect the element, the following error appear…

    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <
Uncaught ReferenceError: $j is not defined

    Any ideas what these mean?

@hdtheagency – I do not know … do you see this if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

    (@hdtheagency)

Will I have to restructure my homepage again if I switch to a Twenty Series theme?

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

@hdtheagency – I’m only suggesting this as a temporary change to test if there is a theme component to this issue …
