I’m sorry that you’re having a tough time of it, but what problem are you having specifically trying to solve?
I cant think how many times I placed a message in the forum and NO response at all happens from either the developers of the community users…
That’s not something that a change in format can solve. Other forum volunteers cannot be compelled to answer your questions. 😉
What changes would you suggest? Looking at your posts, you have posted in the right places. But those are all plugin specific questions. You’ve posted in the correct place but the authors have not replied.
If it’s a general WordPress question then the general sub-forums work and do get picked up. When it’s plugin specific then you really have to be patient and wait for a reply.
@jan Dembowski,
we just got from – dub mahadev – the following:
thanks for the quick response!
🙂
Sorry, It might have been a extreme day in my life when I wrote that. I dont feel so identified with it at the moment. I do receive a lot of feedback and help from plugin authors most of the times, but sometimes I can see a lot of posts, not only like me, but other users too, that never get replies, on certain topics. I just think the forum is a bit outdated, without possibility to vote good answers for example.
Totally understandable to get frustrated sometimes – glad you are feeling better about the forums.
without possibility to vote good answers for example.
Yep, it’s been suggested a number of times – and discussed – general consensus has been that it’s more likely to create more problems and work for moderators mostly than value – people trying to game or scam the system for example. Or voting becoming a popularity contest or preventing people from answering because they don’t want to get a negative vote…

I don’t think voting would help the problem – it’s not like there’s an abundance of support that needs to be filtered out.
yes maybe is not the best, but i found a lot of misleading stuff in the forums, from scary plugin dev. to zero support and everyday I notice less feedback, what I try to say is for example Quora.com , the website has answer request to certain users, so it becomes a knowledge community. something like that I mean, where issues are solved, and classified
which would be very important is a search function for each plugin forum.
Sometimes I’m sure I’ve seen a question and answer before but I can not easily find it again….
Yep, we all agree that a better search would be GREAT – it’s on a long to do list – but it’s technically quite complicated to do because of the way these forums are put together.
If I could change anything I would want the ability to mark things as resolved that are clearly resolved. 😉
Call it a pet peeve lol
LOL – yep, agree with that too – it helps.
@wpyogi Do you have the ability to do it… also one other thing have a space where we can report abuse or spam on the forum.
Yes, mods can (and I do often mark the ones I’m helping on when they are resolved if the OP hasn’t done so).
If you see spam, just tag that thread with “modlook” which gets a mod’s attention – thanks :)!
