    Hi,

I have an old site that has many link exchanges done in the past, and those links are still valid and according to my WordPress, they are “visible”.

But the problem is I cannot find them on display anywhere in my site. I have around 100 outbound links of which I cannot locate them. They show up in the Link Manager (which WordPress removed from new versions 3.5 and up), and I think this is the only place they exist. I can delete them here, but that’s not my question.

My BlogRoll does not display all these links anymore and I have deleted a Resources Page that contained some of these links, a long time ago.

How come WordPress tells me that these links are visible, when they are not? They exist in the Links Manager but are not displayed anywhere on my site…I know Google has penalized this site for the link exchange scheme. Many of these sites sill link back to me. So, I do not know if I should delete them.

They do not seem to be visible at all?

if google is penalising you for link farming and you want to get on google’s good side at some point then yes, delete them. if they’re not visible to site visitors and they’re adversely affecting your site’s performance and ranking then get rid of them and look to more googly link sharing methods.
