pictorialis

Whats the deal with Pictorialis these days?
The P forum is inactive and hardly anyone talks aobut it. Is there no interest now, and does this relate to the following:

1) When WP upgrades, can P follow the same way or does it need a complete rewrite (which probably wont happen)

2) Is WP + Exhibit just as good or even better?
