Hi everyone, Im new to all this & I\’m currently having a very frustrating issue with WordPress. Ive called up GoDaddy who were originally very helpful & had the problem fixed for me however within the first hour of fixing the issue, the problem started again. I’ve since called up GoDaddy twice & they’ve been very stubborn about helping me even though the first person I spoke to listed how to fix the issue on my account file.

Basically, my issue is that I’m using WordPress however every time I try to upload an image file onto WordPress via the Media Library or WooCommerce Products the image will upload as a blank grey box with the file name. Some of the images which were already loaded onto my website have also dissapeared and instead have the image file name instead of the actual image.

When I spoke to GoDaddy Support the first time, the resolution to the problem was amending the Path File name or something like that. I would not have a clue how to do that, where to go or whats involved. I dont know why it keeps changing either! If it was fixed to the correct path file, why is it changing again & blanking out my images!

    My WEB URL: http://www.onebigwarehouse.com

I’m sure this is a simple fix but I need to know, step by step where to go, what to do & how to do it. Like I said, Im very new to all this and really need the help!

They were all photos I uploaded before the issue began happening again. If you look at the following link, you’ll see that there is no photo for the product however under the actual photo is the image file’s name. It should be showing up like that. It should be showing up like the other photos I have on my page. In the media library, that image shoes up as a grey square.

yes image file name is correct but it seem it is not on path anymore, can you caheck after logging to ftp/cpanel file mnger if there is 1011244_722854941169572_2397344708731636400_n-65×65.jpg file in wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ folder.

or you can try reuploading this picture to same product again and see if you get any error while uploading.

Okay, so I went to the files in CPanel & the file 1011244_722854941169572_2397344708731636400_n-65×65.jpg is there. Is that a good thing?

I am not getting a error message at all. The image is uploading as a broken file which is strange. The image file is not too big or anything. Is there anything else I can check or do?

sorry i linked to the thumbnail of file.

    check for this file

    Yes, that file is there.

There is about 6 or 7 lines of that file but all with different sizes but the first one on there is 1011244_722854941169572_2397344708731636400_n.jpg

it is strange to throw a 404 error then

Would you happen to know how to fix this issue – this is really my last option.

If you want to make a temporary admin user for me and email the username and password to [Email redacted], I’ll check to see if I can see the problem. It might be something at godaddy or something in your site.

Thanks for offering to help GreywolfComputer, but as laliz has kindly pointed out, do not as for passwords and logins.

If you want to help still, try your best to troubleshoot and teach him the steps in which you’d take to solve the issue.

That’s sometimes a file permissions error – see:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

Which is a server setting – so you may need to go back to GoDaddy.

Another thing to try is to deactivate ALL plugins and switch to a default theme (Twenty Fifteen) to see if you still have the same problem. If that fixes the problem, reverse your steps one by one to find out what’s causing this problem.

This is exactly what I did with GoDaddy support the first time and it didnt help at all. He changed a file path or something like that which fixed it temporarily.

Would I be able to change the file permissions myself somehow?
