• For the last week or so, the plugin has been deactivated, and refuses to re-activate. It says:

“Activation failed: The filter extension seem to be unavailable”

I have not made any changes, except updates of things that were installed and working fine before this happened.

Any suggestions (besides disabling all plugins) are welcome

  • Hi Linda,

Don’t know whether you still need any suggestions, but for anyone who wants to fix the following error:

“Activation failed: The filter extension seem to be unavailable”

NOTE: The following method works only when the plugin is installed using comopser. I apologize to anyone who install the plugin using WordPress admin.

    Please follow the steps:

Step – 1: You already installed the plugin & cannot activate it. Navigate to wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo folder using Terminal/CMD line/PowerShell.

Step – 2: Run the following command in your terminal
    composer update

I didn’t use composer, but because there’s been some work done on the server by the owner, it’s now working

    Oh! great.
