qTranslate-X supports two-letter language codes only. It was an overlook to put ‘pt-br’ in the pre-defined list of languages, which is fixed by now on the latest GitHub version and will be releases in version 3.3.

When people try to use it, the site gets completely messed up, and it is hard to imagine that all you need is to change ‘pt-br’ language code to something else with two letters using configuration of language on page /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=qtranslate-x&edit=pt-br.

Note to prevent confusion: you need to only change the language code, the locale ‘pt_BR’ is correct.

Damn, I was feeling really very unlucky not to be getting to do something so simple work.

    Machine translation 🙂

Any suggestions for the slug translation?

As you know, this is important for SEO.

Maintaining the “Product Category” and “Product Post” (or Category and Post, for Blogging) names in english and only adding a /br/ in front of the URL (or any other foreign language) would not help much for ranking in the brazilian market (or any other foreign market), in the example.

“Qtranslate Slug” plugin from Carlos and Pedro is giving me “400 – Bad request” errors as soon as I activate it (also tried changing some of its options, with no luck).

Finally, apparently it only translates the main areas (such as category, product) before the specific information on the post/product that I find it’s really important to translate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    @gabaozin,

did you use the latest Beta version in combination with qTranslate Slug?

Download here qTranslate x latest Beta version

    gabaozin

    (@gabaozin)

Yes, this combination would not work.
    Version from wp dashboard works!

I’m accepting to use /shop/product_name if there is no other solution. The main part is done, thankfully.

I’m now trying to figure out how to translate widgets and all the rest that is not being handled by qtranslate-x.

If you have any tips, that would be great!

    Cheers Gunu!

Hello. I’m creating a website in two languages, where the Portuguese of Brazil is the main language and English is the second language.
I set the Portuguese of Brazil as the main language in the settings, but I can not bring up the main site URL in Portuguese. The site is being directed to the URL in English. How do I fix this? Thank you.
