Hey this looks nice, but two questions:

    1) I can’t use this currently, because it sits below our search, and the bubble ‘dialogue’ hovers that appear cause a problem for people trying to click into the search box, it gets in the way because it pops up as their cursor moves up into the search. Is there any way to make it only pop on click? The hover thing really blows because anyone passing over these icons in the sidebar when going to something else causes at best a distraction, at worst an impediment as in my case. I notice on mobile of course, you must click to see that dialogue – IMO should be the same option at any view, to CLICK instead of on-hover. Any way to adapt that – even if temporarily in code? Would like to get to using this asap. Alternately, any way to move where the popup occurs to below instead of above?

    2) Does this plugin do any strange thing like hidden tracking or strange bot visits or callbacks/linkthroughs like so many seem to do?

    Thanks

Thanks mw360. The most important thing first: this is a 100% clean and honest plugin. No dodgy stuff. Regarding your first point: I need to see it. What’s your blog url?

Hello and thanks. Not sure they want me to post that here, but I can give you an idea of the layout at the top of the sidebar:

    [SEARCH BOX]
    – advanced search link
XX XX XX XX <—- the social link icons

So you can see how going to the search (or trying to click the advanced search link) can be blocked by the hover as you move the mouse up there.

Reading my message above I came across a bit crass, sorry – has been a little frustrating finding a good, non-invasive share plugin – and now finding one, only to have the hover issue ;-/ Just frustrating if you know what I mean, it’s obviously not something wrong with your plugin, just how it fits the site in this case.

If there was an alternative to invoke ‘click’ for those popups vs. hover – or have them pop up below or similar – it would help the issue, and I would think such a feature would help others who might come across this – but I do realize you are providing this for free and really do appreciate that – so if it can’t work I will understand.

    Thanks again…

Thanks mw360. Cannot you just place the icons a bit further below? Please note that you can also place them via shortcode ([DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]) or floating (under question 5). Would you mind stating your blog url so that I can see it and get a better picture of it?

    Hello, thanks

It’s a corporate site not my own personal, so I will check but would need to be private in any case. As for placement of the icons, a number of people collectively determined the placement of the icons, not something I can casually move. The site is very structured in how it is presented.

I think the bottom line is this, if there is a way to make ‘click’ or alternate hover location an option, great – if not, then this probably just doesn’t work for us unfortunately, and will just need to keep looking.

Thanks again though, appreciate your efforts and timely responses.

Thanks mw360. Currently it’s not possible, but I’ll take it up on our enhancement list…
