    Okay, maybe I’m a dork here, which is highly possible given my lack of experience and knowledge. I’ve been searching for a plugin to enable me to register, add and show followers to my WordPress blog, and it appears that there isn’t one. I find this immensely confusing – given that there are any number of “add-this-to-any-site-out-there” buttons and plugins available, not to mention how many “show-how-many-twitter-followers-you-have”, it just doesn’t make sense that a blog can’t list and show their own personal “here-on-this-space” reader loyalty stats. Is it just me, or is the universe a little skewed on this?

    If, in all my googling and yahooing and wordpressing I’ve missed that one lonely link with information to the contrary, I’d be really chuffed if someone would point me in the right direction. Starting a new blog is hard enough in and of itself without having (in my humble opinion) a very basic tool to encourage reader loyalty.

    I have the strange feeling that you have to ask that question at WordPress.com — I made that mistake not long ago (i.e. using WordPress.com and asking WordPress.org).

    There are sites such as mybloglog.com that you can use, but I don’t know of any plugins out there as of yet.

    you can do this
    1.goto your settings page and enable – allow blog registrations ..or
    2. Download google friend connect plugin, that can help

    Hi,
    I’m working on developing such a plugin. Please tell me what you’d like to see on it! I understand your general desire (to show visible interaction between readers and your blogs), but is there anything specific you’d like your followers to do (or you’d like to do for your followers)? I’d like to make it as useful as possible for WordPress users.
    In any case, I can let you know as soon as it’s ready (by January I hope).

    My guess is that 90% of bloggers won’t even want to show how many registered users they have since the number won’t even be in double digits. 😛

    Still, it’d be nice if a plugin existed for the 10% who want to display that.

    Why not embed a reader stats button from feedburner?
