Recent Comments

How do i manipulate the Recent Comment plugin to allow me to put a partial part of the whole comment on my home page and when you click on where the comment is it will show the whole comment. I tried putting a the sentence i want showing in the name field but that wipes out the rest of the comment and leaves the whole comment huge and blank
