Hi, I’ve been happy with the Cyclone Slider but today after updating it I received an error that caused me to have to remove the plugin thru FTP since I could no longer navigate to the dashboard. The website itself was displaying only this error msg too. The error: “Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in /home/(user)/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/cyclone-slider.php line 403”. (User=website acct user on server). The website is: http://www.statelineliquors.com. I’ve since replaced the slider with another plugin but as I said, I was happy with your plugin. Any idea what might’ve caused this?

Got a Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home4/instcert/public_html/encuentramaz.com/wp-includes/query.php on line 28

Is there a fix coming soon?

The same happened to me. Same error:
Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in /web/htdocs/……/wp-content/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/cyclone-slider.php on line 403.
The site crashed. As you did, i removed the plugin manually on my host (Aruba) but i would like to use cyclone again, because i still haven’t found another good working slider plugin.
Hope they will fix it on next update.

The same error ocurred to me. But I installed for the first time today and after trying to activate it this problem ocurred:

Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in /home/…/wp-content/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/cyclone-slider.php on line 403

I’m getting this same error also Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found.
It updated and works fine on a bunch of other sites. It’s only happening on just one. If I update it in the wp-admin with other plugins active, the site instantly goes white. But if I turn all plugins off including the cyclone slider, then update it – the fatal error shows.
The php version on that site is 5.2.9. The other sites are 5.4. Could it be that a higher version of php is needed?

developers are MIA, I contacted them several times via their website and no response. I guess the plugin is not supported anymore?? Shame, it was a good one.

360bowling, can you check and see what php version is running on your hosting? That might help narrow down why some people are having problems and others not.

    eucariota

    (@eucariota)

Dzynit, my host is running php version 5.5.22. There’s also a 5.6 version available.
    What about yours?
I will upgrade version and try to update the plugin.
    I’ll let you know.

    Dzynit

    (@dzynit)

Maybe it’s not related to the php version then. The site it’s not working on if I upgrade is running 5.2.9. The ones it’s working fine on with the latest slider version is 5.4+.

I was hoping we could find something in common on the sites it won’t work upgrading on. So all we can tell the plugin author at this point is it seems to have something to do with the ziparchive function. Could that maybe be something that requires a certain php.ini setting?

One site that I manage is also getting a fatal error after updating. Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/content/… /html/wp-includes/query.php on line 28 Is there a way to rollback or get the previous version?

UPDATE: I found the previous version here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/developers/ and downloaded 2.9.7. I unzipped it and uploaded it via FTP after deleting the 2.10 version and all is working properly again.

I Also got the Fatal Error: Call to a menber function get() on a non-objct …… query.php on line 28, after update to version 2.10.

I also have reinstalled an older version, but don’t think that it’s the right solution…

    any news ??

I’m getting the same error. A whole week and not a word from the devs? Has anyone tried contacting them through their website?

    My Error:
PHP Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in /home/(user)/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cyclone-slider-2/cyclone-slider.php on line 403

360bowling said they tried several times through the website but received no response.
We use it on several sites and it’s just one that has this problem. I verified it wasn’t a plugin conflict or a problem with the theme on that site. Another person on this thread helped confirm that it must not be related to php version.
The only other thing I can think to try is it might be a setting in the php.ini needs adjusted, but I don’t have direct access to it on that site to try anything.

I gave up after a couple days and switched back to MetaSlider. It has it’s own little glitches but at least it works well once you get past them. You can also use custom CSS. I’ve used MetaSlider for a few years but preferred CycloneSlider until this happened. Shame they don’t care.

Maybe it’s related to “class ziparchive” that isn’t supported by several hosts.
Anyway i did exactly what member se7endog did and now everything is ok, also with wp 4.2
