I accidentally launched my website, but I dont want it to be live just yet

    Hi,
    I have accidentally launched my website and I am not done working on it.
    The caption at the top of the page read something like, “When you’re ready to launch your blog, click here”, with the words “click here” being a hyperlink.
    I dont want the site to be live just yet?
    How do I go back?

    You can install and activate a coming soon plugin such as:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/coming-soon/

    Hi,
    I do have a Coming Soon page that came with my theme. I was working on that one when I accidentally launched my entire site.
    What worries me is that I dont want the content I am working on to be seen by search engines and direct people to my half-ready site.

    If you don’t already have a robots.txt file, then the horse is out of the barn. I always develop on a subdomain of the primary site location and place a robots.txt file there; but even that is no guarantee of secrecy since robots are free to ignore the robots.txt file if they want to; quite a few do.
