'Reading' setting makes only blog blank

    Hello all

    I am encountering a weird issue. When I set the ‘reading setting’ for the blog page it makes that page completely blank.

    I have the same site on a testbed and it works perfectly, but for some reason on the live version when I set any page to display the blog posts it just goes completely blank without any source code showing, yet the rest of the site works.

    Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi James

    I did switch to twenty fifteen and the posts work. I understand it’s something to do with the theme, because the theme works fine on the testbed version I have on another host. It just working out what…

    What is the name of your theme, and where did you get it from?

    I made it myself, have been for years and as I say it works fine on my testbed, so somewhere on the migration I must have done something…

    Does it work on the main site with all plugins temporarily deactivated?

    No, it’s still blank. Whatever page I choose to make the ‘Posts Page’ just goes blank, very weird…

    Hm, I agree that is very odd. What are the differences between your test site and main site, besides content of course?

    Yeah it’s bewildering me. I am going to go through both and see if there is any differences, next I may upload the theme from the testbed version into a new theme folder on the new site and see anything happens… Thanks for your help

    Well I just put the testbed theme into a test folder on the new site and it works fine, so maybe it’s just one of those things….

    Yeah, there might be a slight difference in the theme on the main site, even something as small as a single typo.
