  • What kind of scripting error are you seeing?

    We didn’t see a scripting error code, just a loss of functionality. We originally submitted this functionality loss to the Javo Theme directory support and received this message.

    Hello,

    Looks we script error is occuring. Please try deactivating all 3rd party plugins and try again, if the error persists afterwards, please provide us with temporary admin account for your site.

    Regards,

    We went through our plugins and determined Events Manager was causing the error.

    I inquired at Javo about the nature of the scripting error and they provided this information.

    “I have tested and found that “Uncaught Error: cannot call methods on button prior to initialization; attempted to call method ‘loading’ this error comes.”
    It seems to be js conflict.”

    On which button?

    You can generate the error by visiting this page – http://rankdux.com/MME/Vendors/delectabowl/ And clicking on ratings. The error is generated when you attempt to create an account (if you aren’t logged in). The error is also generated if you are logged in when you attempt to submit a rating. I can provide temporary credentials via e-mail. Please feel free to e-mail me at Sara@techdux.com

    How did you get thumbnails to display in your event page? Looks nice! Thanks for any advice!

    Thread Starter TechDux-Sara

    (@techdux-sara)

    Thanks Doohah – the thumbnails were as easy as using the Events Manager plugin’s short code [eme_events scope=future limit=0]

    I’m really a big fan of this plugin, that’s why we’re working so hard to resolve the compatibility problems.

    Thank you TechDux-Sara! Sorry to derail your question… is the thumbnail your “featured image” for the event? I’ve tried the short code, but it didn’t seem to work.

    Btw, I tried your rating page – I am NOT getting an error. It’s prompting me to login.

    Doodah –

    If you aren’t logged in, the error on the ratings page is generated when you try to create an account, as an end user you don’t get an error message, the form simply doesn’t submit.

    The thumbnail is the featured image. We really didn’t add anything more than that.

    I’ve copied and pasted our default event list format below, but I don’t think we made any changes to how it comes out of the box.

    <tr>
    <td>
    #_EVENTIMAGE{150,150}
    </td>
    <td>
    #_EVENTDATES
    #_EVENTTIMES
    </td>
    <td>
    #_EVENTLINK
    {has_location}<i>#_LOCATIONNAME, #_LOCATIONTOWN #_LOCATIONSTATE</i>{/has_location}
    </td>
    </tr>

    I have not been able to generate any error message or responses. Can you give us a step-by-step outline of how to replicate the issue?

    Thread Starter TechDux-Sara

    (@techdux-sara)

    We ended up not being able to wait for a response and had a web dev come in and fix the issue. You and Javo might want to put your heads together and see if you can resolve it for others or at least add it as a known compatibility error.

    Thank you for the help!!! Finally realize where the issue was. You rock!
