blog posts missing

    Hi I’m having several issues with my blog posts.

    This is my website: http://akikolingoland.com/ This is a bilingual site.

    Before I switched to Hueman, I used to have a static page, which I have now disabled. So now the home page is supposed to show my blog posts. Also, my main language used to be set to Japanese. Now I have switched it to English. Which may have contributed to the confusing issues below:

    1. The home page does show my blog posts, but the first post is huge, and I can’t seem to make it small like the rest.

    2. For the Japanese version (home page), the first huge post is a repeat. How can I get rid of that?

    3. When I click on “Blog” on the menu, it shows nothing for the English version. For Japanese, it shows only the latest post.

    Would appreciate some help.

    Hi Qiqi.
    1. The first post on the page is controlled by Theme Options > Blog > Featured Post Count. If that option is set to zero, the Featured Post won’t be displayed. If it’s set to 1 then you get your most recent post. If it’s greater than 1 then the theme generates a slider with the most recent x number of posts. The Featured Post image is styled to fit 100% of the content width, changing the height proportionately. In this case, since the image is a square, it’s as tall as it is wide (719×719).
    2. Check Theme Options > Blog > Featured Posts and make sure “Include featured posts in content area” is not checked.
    3. Not sure about this one. I’m not very familiar with multi-lingual sites.

    Hi bdbrown,

    Thank you! I’ve resolved 1 and 2.

    Now when I click on ‘blog’, regardless of which language, I see nothing. I don’t think it’s related to it being a multilingual site.

    I was looking at the edit page, and realised that for ‘template’, it is either ‘default’ or ‘child’. It seems that this is where the problem lies. How can I make it a ‘blog’ template?

    Ok I’ve fixed it. In case anybody else has the same issue:

    Choose static page instead of show latest posts. Leave ‘front page’ alone, and choose ‘blog’ for ‘posts page’. Weird weird weird, I tried this many times, it just didn’t work previously…
