RSS Feeds Taking 25 Seconds To Respond

Hey All, Ive been experiencing extreme slowness with the rss feeds and wondering if anyone else has or know of a work around. I tried to submit one to itunes and it timed out. I went to an RSS validator and it took 20 seconds to respond stating that this is unreasonably long and itunes will likely reject anything over 5 seconds.

To give you an idea of my troubleshoting i did a ping of my server and it was returning fine. I activated a different podcasting plugin that i no longer used.. created an rss feed with it and it had a response time of 4 seconds and i went back to this one and again it was between 15-25 seconds as i tried many times. So from this i have concluded that the issue has to be in this plugin but maybe im wrong. Anyone else experience this?

I also updated the plugin today to the latest version but im open to suggestions.

One more thing.. ive noticed that after updating the plugin when i go back to the validator its having issues at the xml level. its saying that the xml is no longer valid. I was not having this particular issue prior to updating. I was able to validate everything before i was just getting a response time warning. Now i cant get past the xml Could just be a coincidence but im just sharing

Hi Darryl,

I had a look at your feed and I can see that you currently have Blubrry PowerPress enabled. This is causing loads of issues with the feed, so please deactivate that (and any other podcasting plugins that you have) before I can have a look and test again.

Hey Hugh, Yes sorry i activated it in order to test other feeds. but its deactivated now.

Im sure there are many i just wanted you to see the specific error im getting

I’m not sure what that validator is, but the only validator that holds any real weight is the W3C Validator, which returns a 100% positive result for your feed: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Falldigitalradionetwork.com%2Ffeed%2Fpodcast%2Fthe-sir-darryl-radio-experience&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

I can assure you that the XML is 100% valid.

What happens when you submit the feed to iTunes? Do they actually give you any errors?
