    Hello,
While searching for some code, I found that there are several places where PHP Coding Standard set by WordPress itself is not being followed in the WordPress core. Is that intentionally ignored to focus on features or is modification of process? I am bit confused.

Is this the right category to post this question?

    Yes. 😉

It’s not intentional exactly, there’s lots of code that goes back before the coding standards were implemented. I don’t believe the core team will accept patches that only modify code for stylistic differences (I read that recently) so that code likely will remain as is for now.
