• Not only is my wordpress dashboard running EXTREMELY slow, but also my website. When I say slow, I mean 5-20 seconds to load anything and everything I click on. I haven’t the slightest clue what to do.

I have downloaded WP Total Cache to clean out and quicken site and WP Smushit to reduce images, now adding CloudFlare. NOTHING is working. If anything its staying the same and/or getting worse. I have GoDaddy Resource Level 2 which means I have A LOT of space and resources I can use, but hardly have 1/4 of the total amount. No error messages, no suggestions, nothing pop up on my dashboard telling me my website needs help.

What can I do or what is the problem? Anybody? Anything helps!

  • Hi there,

Try running your site through something like http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/, see if there is any file that is running slow, that’s causing a bottleneck.

Is the caching plugins configured correctly? Cache should be able to speed up most sites. Other than that, I’d speak with GoDaddy. There could be a problem at server level they could look at.

Or it could be your connection to your site. Are other sites slow? The Pingdom link will tell you if they can load the site fast. If they can, the problem lies with your ISP maybe.

    Hope that helps a bit.

It gave me a 22/100 on leverage browser caching. What does this mean and how should I fix it?

Here is my website if you want to check the stats for yourself and maybe get a better look at what the details are:

Okay taken a look at the site.

One resource which is taking ages appears to be the “http://rapforthemoment.com/?sccss=1&ver=4.1.1” resource. This is an odd way to load the CSS file, as by the looks of it it’s stored in the database some way, so rather than loading the file, it’s loading the file by checking for it’s location in the database.

What theme are you using? If it is a paid for theme, I’d recommend contacting them, as they would be better positioned than anybody on the forum to answer it.

    Hope that helps! 🙂
