• I switched my domain name this morning (after a hellish experience, including almost losing all my content, but that’s another story). Ever since I switched (from wanderinggrad.com to samsfifthavenue.com) the theme reverted to a default one, and when I try to go to the themes or plugins page to put it back to how it was, the screen just goes white. Now, I looked up all the articles about the “white screen of death” and I already went into the FTP files to fix what it said to, and it’s still a white screen. 🙁

Is this just because of the recent domain name change and soon it will allow me to access these pages again soon, or is this there some secret I’m missing. The rest of the admin site works fine. I can edit posts and pages, I just can’t get to the themes or plugins so I can fix up my site to looking pretty again.

  • Hi saaamohhh,

Try re-uploading all WordPress files again,
    except your “wp-config.php” file
. There might be some files missing/corrupted/damaged during the transfer process.

Also make sure that themes are uploaded on your /wp-content/themes. If folder of that particular theme is not there, it means that WP cannot display ANYTHING from that theme (but in this case you couldn’t see your actual website not the admin panel).

    .

White screens can sometimes be caused by fatal errors. If you haven’t already, try turning on WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php. It might help you see an error instead of just a white screen.
