Try this: click the “Settings” button on the menu editor page and change “Who can access this plugin” to” Only the current user”.

However, that seems not possible as I cannot deactivate the Editor Pro Menu under Settings.

That usually happens when you try to disable the Menu Editor menu item for your own role. The plugin has a couple of safeguards that are intended to prevent you from accidentally locking yourself out. You can still hide the menu item if you re-enable it for “Current user” after disabling it for your role role.

Thank you for the quick reply. The settings option worked! Now I still have to find an easy way to disable the menus in the admin bar. Any ideas?

Do you mean the WordPress Toolbar™ (previously known as Admin Bar)? The Toolbar Editor add-on might help with that:

Yes, that’s what I was looking for. I actually found a script that I adapted and put it into the functions file.

You may want to think about including this feature in your plugin.

Well, Toolbar Editor is an (optional) add-on for this plugin.
