Why do you think its a good idea to keep pestering a dashboard with your notifications? Do you have any idea how annoying it is when your plugin is installed on 10+ sites and you have this update notification taking up half the screen. You press OK, and tomorrow there’s just another one. Seriously…. I found the setting to turn it off.

Guess what? There’s no a NEW notification:

“There is an update available for your WordPress Security plugin: WordPress Simple Firewall.
    Please click to update immediately”

This is borderline spam. Please consider not being so intrusive on someone’s WordPress and turn off those annoying notifications.

Sorry you feel this is spam – the messages aren’t promoting anything commercial and you can turn them off – as you already found.
I left the plugin update notification outside of this setting since updating is pretty important.

I also respectfully reject the idea of intrusion. Again, there is no commercial nature in these messages, it’s a completely free plugin, and you are free to uninstall it at any time – wherein so doing, unlike almost any other plugin you’ll find, it completely deletes all traces of itself.

I’ll consider your feedback, but unless I get further reports in this tone, I’m not likely to change it any time soon.

    Thanks for your feedback.
    Paul.

    Hi,
I too find this annoying, though I also appreciate that I can uninstall and be free of the ‘nagging’.

I am also grateful for free software, thank you.

So this is really just feedback. As you know, there is a perfectly good update system with notification within WordPress, so you don’t really need to add your own.

It reminds me of the bad old days when I used windows… constantly having something or other bugging me about something.

But again, thank you for your hard work, but I am changing to another plugin.

    All the best, Peter
