Hello
You must create your subdomains on your host. See with your host provider if you don’t know to do that.
Your subdomains must point to your WordPress directory. Test if it works with Polylang de-activated, then it should work with Polylang.
Hi,
I did what you said. It takes 24h for the subdomains to be effective but it seems that it is working good !
Thanks a lot!
The subdomains are set up but they do not work. The subdomains (eng.demeure-normande-de-caractere.com) are supposed to lead to the main folder “www” or should I create a another directory for the website??

Hi!
Does your subdomain name “eng” matches the language code (by default it is “en” for English)?
Hello Chouby,
Actually I succeeded I don’t know how to make it works with the subdomains like http://mydomain.com/eng. Which is fine for me.
Three questions:
– Why the subdomain http://www.mydomain.com direct to http://mydomain.com/eng instead of http://mydomain.com/fr. (French is my default language. It is working good without the www but it leads to the english version with the www).
– Is it possible to have by default an URL like http://mydomain.com/ instead of http://mydomain.com/fr/homepage for the French version which is the default language?
For English it http://mydomain.com/eng/homepage is just fine.
– The fact that when I go on http://mydomain.com/ it redirect to http://mydomain.com/fr/homepage is it not negative for SEO purpose?
Thank you very much Chouby
You were right, I did not pay attention that I used “eng” instead of “en”…
