WooCommerce thumbnails remain small

Although I regenerated the WooCommerce thumbnails to the right size (I checked it with Firebug), the responsive design (Twenty Fourteen) seems to keep the thumbnails too small. Only when I downsize the screen, the thumbnails jump to a larger format. What can I do to fix this problem?
