I’m using Storefront theme with Woo Commerce. It is really great.

Layered navigation allows the user to filter products by attribute – my example in clothing is waist size.

This works fine in the sidebar, but is it possible to create a menu item that uses this filter?

  • Yes and no 🙂

You can add a custom menu item and just copy the url which will work just fine, it’s not dynamic though and you’d need to manage it manually.

Alternatively you could add the layered nav widget to the header widget region and apply a little custom CSS to style it like a menu.

Many thanks for the reply James. Easier than I thought, and it is very helpful to see the theme supported quickly. 🙂

I’m also thinking of creating specific pages for each size to act as landing pages. Is there a way to make a shortcode to add the selection to a page?

I’m afraid not, you’d need a custom loop.

You can find all the Shortcodes included in WooCommerce here: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/

OK, the shortcodes list is very helpful. Glad to have a definitive answer, I’ll get working on a custom loop.
    Many thanks.
