Featured excerpts not showing on single posts

    I have a blog with a ‘featured’ section in the sidebar which displays the 5 most recent featured posts with their excerpts. Recently I installed the NextGen gallery plugin and the Yet Another Photoblog Plugin and then noticed that the featured sections on my single posts pages weren’t displaying the excerpts anymore (the Single Posts file calls the sidebar just like the other files do and the featured section is in the sidebar).

    So I de-activated the plugins yet I still have the problem (see the right side):

    I can’t for the life of me figure this out – any ideas??

    In case you are using the thumbnails for excerpts plugin,
    it causes the excerpts not to show up on single pages.

    Uncomment the following in thumbnailforexcerpts.php
    if(is_single()) return;
    to make it work again
