    Hi Per,

    Firstly, I’m very glad that you like Document Gallery!

    I’m actually quite keen on keeping the shortcode as lean as possible. The more cluttered it gets, the more difficult it is for users to figure out how to do the common use cases. For that reason, I don’t plan to add this functionality at this time.

    That said, this is pretty straightforward to do using the filters that have been built into Document Gallery. Specifically, using the dg_icon_template filter would allow you to insert the functionality you want (documented here).
