Link to documents in repeater field

I have a “file” repeater field for documents to be uploaded. When I set output to HTML, it only displays the titles as text that is not wrapped in a link. I could put <a> tags around the field in my template which works OK if there’s only one document, but obviously that doesn’t work if there are 2 or more docs…there’s still only one <a> tag. What is the proper way to generate a list of items, all linked to their respective documents within the same repeater field?
