Hi. Currently my Site URL is the same as the location of my install (sub-folder). I need to integrate my blog with Magento and the plugin I’m using (Fishpig) requires that the WP install be in a different sub-folder than the site URL. So, I’m looking to move my existing blog files from one sub-folder to another, but I want the Site URL (and all links, etc.) to remain the same.

For example, currently my blog is installed in a sub-folder off the root called ‘sub’ and my site URL is http://www.domain.com/sub/. I want to move all the files to a sub-folder called ‘wp’ but keep everything else the same as far as the URL and all links, etc.

I keep finding tutorials on how to move from one sub-folder to the root and vice versa but nothing that addresses just moving a WP install to a different sub-folder and retaining the Site URL.

Will this plugin help me and can you offer advice on the process? Thanks!

  • You really shouldn’t need this plugin for that, although I believe people have used to for that… Really all you should have to do is follow the steps in this documentation

    Hope that helps!
