I posted a nice long review on a yesterday for a plugin that I really liked and how it was the perfect solution for what I needed. I didn’t break any rules or post anything wrong, it was nothing but a positive review, and giving actual details as to why I was happy with it. Unlike most reviews I have seen where people post nonsense. The only thing I think that might have been not allowed was a link I posted to the non-profit site that the plugin uses, so others can see how well it can work and to have an example they can use. Other than that there was nothing wrong with my post.

Today my review is missing and/or deleted and I cannot see it anywhere. What happened to my review? Why was I not notified that my review was removed and/or any explanation? Is this a bug with your site? I would really like to know what is going on as I really took the time to leave a good and helpful review of this plugin.

    This was the plugin page:

As far as I can see you didn’t review the IgnitionDeck plugin as distributed on WordPress.org, you reviewed a commercial plugin and a commercial support service.

Since the plugin author has advertised the commercial version on WordPress.org your review has been added back in.

Do note that you’re not supposed to embed links in reviews.

Ok thank you. I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to put a link and will not do so in the future. I thought it was relevant so people could actually see the plugin in a full working live environment. But, if you don’t allow it there, that’s fine also. Thank you for putting back my review.

I need to emphasise that the WordPress.org forums are here to support the core application, and themes and plugins that are distributed on WordPress.org. We do not support plugins downloaded elsewhere. There is no commercialware distributed on WordPress.org.

People can complain about anything for a free plugin, including the lack of support.

Moderators may have an issue with people complaining about plugins distributed elsewhere. For example, “I bought this plugin for $n and I received no support” – And in turn rate the free plugin poorly because of it. The same can be said for the opposite of that.
But we make exceptions when plugin authors have directly advertised their commercialware on WordPress.org, or the plugin distributed on WordPress.org, and so that’s why the reviews are still up.

I think what happened in your case was a mistake.

Ok, thank you for the explanation. I definitely used this plugin specifically and always get the new releases from WordPress directly. There are other aspects to this plugin that are downloaded via the authors page when you get a paid plan, but that’s more for the back-end and extra functionality which I didn’t cover in my review as to not confuse people with technical blah blah that wasn’t relevant to this plugin on WordPress.

Thank you for the quick response and explanation, I appreciate it.
