main page times out; admin pages work
-
Upgraded from 2.2.2. Upgrade.php seemed to run successfully (tells me database is up-to-date, etc.). Admin page was not working post-upgrade. Every time I tried to login it would simply return me to the login page. Somehow I figured out that replacing 2.7’s wp-login.php with that of 2.2.2 allowed me to login. So now I can access the admin panel, etc.
That all may be related to what is going on now: the main site does not display a blank page or anything at all. It just doesn’t load; the page request times out eventually. Apache access log occasionally displays a 301 when I try to refresh. Error.log says nothing. I enabled PHP error logging but have yet to see anything turn up from that.
Theme is set to default, plugin directory has been renamed to force plugin disabling (I never had any caching plugins enabled, let alone installed, either). The required secret key definitions in wp_config have been added. I ensured all permissions are correct. I’ve followed the extended upgrade guide.
I thought this might be a problem with Apache’s settings, so I tried messing around with .htaccess (which I’ve never used or needed). Didn’t seem to do anything at all. Renaming index.php > index.old causes the directory listing to show up instead. Apache is configured to redirect to index.php, so this seems to indicate that the problem is not caused by Apache not serving index.php.
I’m hoping I’ve overlooked something. Server info is available at http://clunkline.com/info.php .
