W3 causing WordPress Blank Gray Screen on update-core.php

    When updating some plugins, and also when updating core using the backend admin, I was getting blank grey screens with no information. No errors to be found in my error logs, no debug info.

    Disabling W3, updating, then reactivating did the trick. Hope this helps other folks who run into this issue.
