404 log growing rapidly

    Hi, I noticed this morning that the hits on a website has jumped to 300+ today where we normally only get 50-60 per day. I have logged on and checked the redirection logs and under 404 there are over 3000 entries that have been doing so for the last few days.

    The referrer either seems to be a google site or be blank.

    Is anyone able to advise what might be going on here?

    Have a same problem. Yesterday I noticed that the table wp_404_redirection has records on 1.5 GB.

    experiencing something similar… i deactivated it quickly but how to remove the logs ?

    can we just drop the entire table ?
