[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Still no medium image option?

I’ve gone through what must be a hundred topics about this and still can’t find a solution.

It hasn’t been made an option in Nexgen Gallery itself but has anyone managed to come up with a way to display a separate image in the single pic view, not just a downsized full sized image?

It’s an awful waste of bandwidth the way it is now, making things slower and also the downsized picture is uglier that if correctly resized. It’s just about the only thing from making this plugin perfecto!
