Denied: upload_files

    One of my authors can’t see the upload file/image tool.
    I as an admin checked his profile and found this at the bottom of his profile page:

    Additional Capabilities Denied: upload_files

    This issue has happened since upgrading to 2.7.
    I haven’t found this issue with other authors, (but am not sure as haven’t check all author profiles)

    How can I resolve this issue so the author can again get to upload files.

    At some point, you took that capability away from that user. Probably using the Role Manager plugin or similar. You either have to use that plugin to give it back to him, or manually edit the database. Look in the usermeta table for the capabilities and such.

    WordPress has no built in way to manage capabilities and roles.
