MaxGalleria will not show using DIVE theme

    I am running WP 4.1 and am using The DIVI Theme from Elegant Themes.
    I have tried everything to get the gallery working that I could find on regarding no gallery showing. When I use the shortcode I only see the header and menu and the rest of the page is blank. I have the latest version of Max Galleria and have purchased the image showcase plugin. Nothing I do will allow the gallery to appear.

    I have reset the permalinks. Deactivated and reactivated the plugins. Deactivated all other plugins.

    I am using a child theme and have my wordpress installed in a sub-directory of my site. could that be a problem?
