Support » Fixing WordPress » The New 2.7 Dashboard

  • I just upgraded to 2.7 and I can’t figure out how to use the dashboard. I ran a google search, and I discovered some pics that show the main dashboard arranged with the menus on a left sidebar.

The problem is, on my dashboard, there is NO left sidebar.

Why? Do I have to enable it or something, or should the left navigation sidebar be there from the start?

    Please help.

  • I’m with you… I don’t have a left sidebar. Where is it? What do I need to do?

    deactivate yours plugins.

Especially if you have a dashboard editor or admin menu plugin installed. delete those form your plugin folder and you should be good to go.

You can’t deactivate the plugins though without the dashboard. I can’t seem to fix this problem. or even get to my plugins. When I first logged in it was working just fine but now it isn’t could someone give me a step by step break down please!

Yes, you can, just delete them from the plugins folder.

Like I said The dashboard doesn’t let me access them. And I don’t know what folder you are refering to

Here is what my dashboard looks like

    The main sidebar is missing

And I don’t know what folder you are refering to

The plugins folder (wp-content -> plugins), the location where you originally uploaded your plugins.

I tried deleting them and nothing changed it still doesn’t work

If you just upgraded, make sure you copied all the wp-admin files and sub folders up. Also, if you used a plugin to upgrade, rather than doing it manually, you are most likely missing files.

No I ended up deleting all my content on accident and downloading a whole new wordpress. When I originally logged in after the change everything worked just fine. I went to change my password and the dashboard wouldn’t allow me to return to the previous screen. After refreshing the main link (www.example.com/blog/wp-admin) It brought me back the the main sidebar was then gone.
