Use different file formats as versions instead of numbers

    Greetings,

    Can “version” be used for different file types/formats instead of numeric version? For example, we have many publications that are same content and title, but in pdf and epub format.

    Currently I use a post template with custom fields linking to each download format. Example here

    While I understand that this might be useful it currently isn’t created like this. The versions should be floats (e.g. 1.0.0) so that the plugin can do a version compare to determine what is the latest version.
