• Morning all,

I’ve tried a few things so far, and have searched the forums, but cannot find anything that will do the job.

I want to completely remove the black dashboard access bar at the top of the screen.

I’ve installed a few plugins, and am currently using the ‘Remove dashboard access’ plugin. None of them get rid of it though.

They all seem to limit the access to specific users. I want it so that admins can still see it and access it once logged in, but all other user roles and non-logged in people cannot see it at all.

So far, the one I am using removes access to it, but the black bar that says ‘WordPress’ etc, is still there.

Can the bar not be removed?

Also, there is an option in the iThemes security plugin I have installed that says, ‘Hide backend. . . ‘ If I tick this, will it remove it from admins aswell?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By default the admin bar is not showed to logged out users, if it’s showing then most likely either a plugin or your theme is adding it, or if you use a caching plugin it’s misbehaving.

    Thanks, it was buddypress. .

The option in the buddypress settings showed ‘Show toolbar for logged out users’. Changed that now.

Is there a way I can completely hide it though? I have a log in/register form in my sidebar, so don’t need the admin bar/tool-bar/dashboard.

Anyone know how to completely remove the black bar?

Does the ‘Hide backend feature’ in iThemes remove this? If so, will it still show for admins? (Cause admins will need it obviously)
