Cannot permanently turn off emoticons
-
I’m quite aware of the settings being under “Writing”, and I’ve unchecked the “Convert emoticons like 🙂 and 😛 to graphics on display” option so many times, but upon saving, this option reverts to being checked.
Is this a bug? The reason I ask is because this setting was unchecked soon after I installed WordPress, and somehow, the setting is back on, but I can’t change it at all. I’ve went into the database and changed it, but somehow, it once again reverts to being checked upon logging in the next day.
It’s becoming a real pain, because 1) I don’t want to use emoticons on my blog and 2) the emoticons locations continue bringing back 404 errors no matter what.
