Being a new user of WP, I’m making my first website.
I have copied the embed code of my you tube video to my post(home page),the video has appeared full size,I want it smaller? How is this done ?

I see the html code has width and height, but nothing changes if smaller sizes are entered, I see it says fullscreen too.

    I looked at forum,I tryed shortcuts,but I don’t know if I done it correctly….nothing changed.

Surely there must be a simple answer, dmitriyk mentioned a solution, but dont understand what was meant by “around iframe”
    Any help much appreciated??

  • Depending on the theme you can just paste the video url.

If using the embed code select a smaller size from YouTube’s embed options.

If those don’t work click on the Text tab and edit the html width and height manually.

Is there any code in your iframe that says 100% if so that could be the cause.

Change themes. Perhaps something is forcing the dimensions?

I’ve tryed selecting a smaller size in You Tube’s embed options. Also tryed editing the width and height inside html tab, inside the post page I’m editing (home page),this doesn’t work, the size stays the same. This is the code I paste, from youtube

    <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/sovb4YLTWgE&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

Have tried percent even….tried deleting the code “allowfullscreen”,
    Any ideas?

My best guess is your theme is overriding the dimensions. Have you tried using another theme just to see if that could be what’s overriding settings?

    Which theme are you using?
