Author profile chnage

    I need to change our author profile name for my account. (My current profile name is WP Shop byGMO, but i will be changing to something else.)

    Well, I already know how to edit my profile here, but my question is if I need to change my profile information (e.g. readme.txt, plugin page banner, etc..) on all of our WordPress themes and plugins we distribute here.
    If it is necessary, is it appropriate to change my account profile first, or should I update all profile information on my theme and plugin files first?

    I don’t believe you need to touch your plugins. Changing your display name won’t effect the readme.txt files in your plugins. It’s the user ID that will be referenced not the display name. I’m not sure about themes but I believe it’s the same way.

    If you mean the display name on your plugins (not the plugin slug, that can’t be changed) then yes you will need to update each file. It won’t matter if you do the plugins before or after you modify your account display name.

    Thanks for the info. Since it’s not the display name of our plugins, I will try updating our profile info first to see if it works.
