• I’m a computer novice (OLD) After my failed attempt to verify my page on google plus tools it won’t load. When I check back on the google tools page it says not verified and appears to keep trying every 9hrs or so.

What did you do to verify it at Google?

I logged into my domain name provider 1&1 and created a subdomain and cname – basically just followed the instructions from the google toolbar. Thanks for the help.

Ok, that’s the difficult way to verify your site in Google.

Undo all of that, and your site should return.

When you try verifying your site again, choose either the meta tag or html file upload option, they’re much more straight-forward. 🙂

Thank you so much for the reply. Sorry to be dense but how do I undo it?

Well, it’s different for every hosting provider and domain registrar, so there really isn’t a straight how-to I can offer.

Basically, whatever you did to create the subdomain with c-name, undo that.

Thanks again I think I was able to undo the sub domain but I can’t figure out how to undo the cname, Is it even possible to talk to someone at wordpress?

Talked to 1&1 on the phone. They say I never created a new sub domain or cname. When I check on the google tools page it says I’m not verified but it looks like it has been attempting and failing to verify every 9hrs or so for the last 3 days. I may be jumping to a conclusion or it may be a coincidence but my web page will not load and the problem started after I attempted to verify w/ google. What would you recommend I do next?

At the moment, Google verify is irrelevant. It’s can’t verify because it can’t find the website. If you can’t, how would Google?

What is your website’s URL? What is Google trying to verify? BTW, I use the html file option for all my verifications.

Also, when you said you setup the subdomain and c-name, what did you actually do instead?
