Hi again, just to let you know ive tested again on fresh install of wordpress and buddypress with fresh databases on default theme and same problem is there when updating avatars it shows the refresh bar but then goes to default mystery man, i love the way you have added the drag on the cover photo, plus there is another problem the new version removes the @mentions name and replaces it with full name so noone can see what your mentions name is plus it also breaks using @mentions in the activitys.

as i mentioned before I have the sae problem . And I can’t use gravatar neither
Your photo must be larger than 140px
If it is smaller than the default avatar will be displayed

hi again, no error message is displayed! plus all the photos ive tried are larger than 140px, and the default avatar does not show the wordpress default avatar shows, i have tested this over and over on clean instals with wordpress 4.1 and all default themes, plus it “BREAKS” buddypress @mentions features GO TRY MENTIONING SOMEONE AND YOU WILL SEE the auto suggest is not working with your plugin active, also the @mentions name is replaced in the cover photo with the users real name so noone knows your @mentions name when viewing profile, please take my word for this as for 2 days ive in stalled fresh installs of wordpress and databases and tested lots and lots of nthemes, maybe you need to do a fresh instal and test it out again?
if you have 2 users of your plugin telling you the same thing then you clearly have a problem somewhere that needs addressing with the plugin.
i thank you for your quick responses on these matters = good support, im sure this plugin will get to a useable level soon if you keep working on it at this rate :), i will test your new version in the next hour or so and get back to you.
for displayed @mentions you can edit bp-cover.php line:62 and remove line
and add this code <h1>@’.core_get_user_displayname_box( $user_id ).'</h1>

You my friend are an absolute star for fixing these issues so fast :), i have just installed it and tested it and it seems to be working fine now, i will test it further with other plugins etc etc and get back to you if i run into any other issues , i will also leave you a good rating later especially for your fast support!! 🙂
oh i have one other little issue with your plugin that i think should be fixed ,the activity that is posted with the “test user uploaded a new cover picture” can sometimes be way too big depending on the size of photo they upload to their cover! is there a way you can get the activity updates to auto crop to the same size shown on the cover photo on your profile? plus it would be great if you can choose from previous uploaded cover photos and avatars so the photos that are stored on the server can be used again. 🙂
