Support » Fixing WordPress » 2.2.3 spam in comments

  • I updated to 2.2.3 and although commenting is only allowed to registered users, I’m still receiving spam comments from unregistered users. Any patch?

  • You are receiving trackback spam. No patch.
Use anti-spam plugins like Akismet, BadBehavior.

If you’re using Akismet, then just mark the comment as spam and get on with your life.

Marking a comment as spam sends the comment back to Akismet’s servers, so that they can learn what is spam and what is ham. Unless you tell it that it’s spam, it will never learn.

You got a real snarky attitude you know that??? This isn’t the first time you have dismissed a comment with a “get on with your life” remark.

If you don’t like to mod, then quit!

I mark three or four spam messages a day, and have for about a month. I was just trying to help.

Huh? If you thought that was attitude, then you have some kind of issues I can’t help you with.

Any “snarky” you read was in you reading it, not in me writing it. Lighten up, dude.

    *big kiss*
