Timezone Settings Issue

I’m having issues with this plugin interfering with the default timezone setting in WordPress. When I set my timezone either via WordPress’s admin or manually in PHP, it gets overwritten to the UTC for code running in the admin (but not on the frontend). I need to set the timezone on both the frontend and admin, specifically for the conversion of dates to/from timestamps. Is there a solution for this?
