All Posts and Pages directing to 404

    After adding a post this morning to my site I noticed that the new post was directing to a 404 page. I then checked other posts and pages and all are doing the same.

    Steps I have taken so far.
    -changed to twenty14 theme
    -deactivated all plugins and reinstalled 1 by 1
    -changed permalink setting to default

    All of which do not make any difference except when permalink setting was default I could access the blog page. but still could ot access individual posts.

    Can you post the contents of your .htaccess file?

    Did you try resetting the permalinks back to the setting you originally had?

    Hi Matt,
    I reset the permalinks and no joy however since then I created a new .htaccess file and the problem seems to have been resolved, for now.
    Not sure why or how but it seems ok.
