Customising subscriber emails

    Hi everyone,

    I currently have Jetpack installed and am using its very rudimentary subscriber function. Whereas currently it automatically sends an email with my full story to every subscriber directly when I post, I would like to be able to do one or more of the following:

    -Choose when the post goes out to subscribers via email (I don’t want them to receive every post)
    -Use an excerpt only within the email so that subscribers have to click on a link to view the blog
    -Have the option of sending a weekly digest instead of my posts going out every time I post something and only the user can choose

    I know that some of these functionalities exist within the plugin Subscribe2 – has anyone used this and do you like it?

    Do you know if I will be able to somehow transfer existing subscribers across from the Jetpack plugin subscription to Subscribe2 and if so, how?

    Would anyone recommend MailChimp or some other plugin that has the features I need?

    It’s a shame no one has answered yet, but you may get some better insights on the Subscribe2 plugin if you post in their forum:

    I use MailChimp and love it, and it will do those things that you want. It will also let you import your list of current subscribers…. but having not used the Subscribe2 plugin I cannot tell you how it compares.
