• On my blog page (menu item), I want to show about 5 – 10 recent blogs with just the first paragraph and then a link to the entire article. I have hunted everywhere but can’t find the setting. Help!

  • Hi,

You can find this on Settings – Reading

Hi Peter, I tried that yesterday, including showing the blogs as “portfolio” but nothing changes. It’s not working. I don’t don’t what else to do. Arrrrrgh. R.

What you mean as ”portfolio” ?
If you would like to show your blog on specific page you have to set up it too.
Can you give the url where you would like to show your posts ?

Hi Peter, I thin I’ve confused you (don’t want to be alone ;)). I really meant “gallery.” When you are on the Post page (to create or edit one), there are a number of ways you can display it. When I chose “gallery,” it showed up in the abbreviated form, with posts one after the other. When I use “standard” or other types, doesn’t work. I don’t know if it’s just an accident or if that’s what they want me to do. Anyway, I will look at the url’s to make sure they are going to the right place.

    Thank you!

    Rochelle

I m little bit lost, anyway you probably mean post format ”gallery” this has to be supported by your theme.

So do you use post format ”gallery” for all your posts?
What do you see on post page where all your posts are ? Link to that page will really help 😉

Have you tried inserting a read more tag in your posts? If you are in the visual editor, the button to the right of the remove link button will insert a read more tag. In the text editor it will look like this: <!–more–>

(Leave your post type as “standard.”)
