• Hi,
my just newly installed 4.1 WordPress site (standard theme, plugins: akismet and “Contact Form to Email”) first had some serious responsiveness issues, and now the “visual” tab or “screen option” and some more buttons are not working any more. And the server didn’t have any virus issues up to now.

I was wondering if i just go and install a new copy of wordpress by using the existing db with its entries.

Question, is it enough to just use the same table prefix during installation and that’s it ? Or do i need to consider more ?

    Regards,
    Frank

Sure, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

There’s no need to change the table prefix or anything in the database.
